As promised, I am back with a bang bringing you some awesome new content. Today I thought I’d make a post designed to be read by a small portion of the public. Saying that, they have been growing numbers rapidly recently. I’m talking about the contingent of young males (mainly in the western world) that are currently sporting, large unkempt and incredibly fashionable beards (despite the fact there’s a debate over whether or not they’re even good for your health).
If you live in the UK, US, or any major city in Europe, I’d be willing to wager that you know exactly what I am talking about. A lot of these men could be described as hipsters. These are people that tend to have an inordinate amount of unexplained money, are fanatic about being individualistic (which manifests itself in the procurement of obscure tattoos), enjoy walking their crazily small dog around urban city centres, and love documenting their every move on various social media platforms.
There’s no two ways about it. These people have definitely been the driving force when it comes to the growing popularity of beards. Others, have simply jumped on the bandwagon. Although not having hipster tendencies, they have realised that there probably has been no other time (at least during their professional careers) where it has been so acceptable to sport a beard to work. That sole reason has meant there has been a kind of snowball effect. In other words, those men who five years ago would never have even contemplated the idea of growing a beard, are in fact in full beard-mode.
As you can imagine, one knock-on of this new fashion is associated products. The male grooming industry has never been so fervent. You see it everyday; a new brand cropping up with the latest oils and balms designed to make your fluffy facial hair and well groomed, comfortable and fragrant as possible. The epitome of this is the hugely popular beard grooming kit which incorporates many different grooming products into one greater package – a must have for all beardies and a great gift too.
Now that you know what I think it’s time for you to tell me what you think? Do you think this apparent craze will last? Do you even want it to last? Let me know your thoughts…
